Terms of use

Last updated October 7, 2026

tip lets you send a tip to any X account and lets the owner of that account claim it. By using tip you agree to these terms.

What tip is

tip is software. It is not a bank, a money transmitter or a custodian. Tips are held by a public smart contract on Robinhood Chain (escrow) until the recipient claims them or until they return to the sender. Balances are denominated in USDG, a dollar stablecoin issued by a third party.

Paying

Card and Apple Pay payments are processed by independent, licensed providers (such as Stripe or MoonPay) through our wallet partner Privy. Those providers run their own identity checks and terms. A 2% fee is taken from each tip. Network and provider fees may apply.

Claiming and refunds

A tip is tied to the permanent numeric id of an X account, not to its @handle. Only someone who signs in with that X account can claim it. Tips not claimed within 30 days are sent back to the sender's tip balance automatically. Card payments cannot be reversed to the card by tip.

Your balance

Your balance sits in a wallet that only you control. We cannot move, freeze or recover it. You are responsible for any address you withdraw to; blockchain transfers are final.

Acceptable use

Do not use tip for fraud, money laundering, sanctions evasion, harassment or anything illegal where you live. We may block access to the website for anyone who does.

No warranty

tip is provided as is. Smart contracts, blockchains, stablecoins and third-party providers can fail. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from them.

Not affiliated

tip is not affiliated with X Corp. or Robinhood. X is a trademark of X Corp.
